Holographic Nails: Four Stunning Finishes!
Holographic flakies and Picture Polish have been two peas in a pod since the very beginning. As one of the first brands to bring holographic nail polish to the market, we’ve remained at the cutting edge. Fans go wild for our collaboration colours with PP enthusiasts, and even more so for the holo. We are continually researching fresh ways to bring holographic rainbows to your nails while remaining dedicated to finding plant-based sources.
There have been lots of developments with holographic possibilities, and we wanted to bring you up to speed. What’s better than a little chat about the best sparkle of them all? Like a certain fictional character from the ocean, it’s what we do and live for!
Glitter Holographic Finish
Holographic glitter differs from standard glitter because of a series of gratings beneath the transparent protective polymer. These gratings act like tiny prisms, splitting the light to create the rainbow sparkle we all know and love. Glitter is added to a base polish, whether coloured or clear, depending on the formula. Holo glitter can come in small circles, fairy dust particles, or larger shapes like hexagons, stars, and hearts.
The coverage for holographic glitter polish can be opaque or scattered. For full coverage, polish lovers can use either the bottle brush or a makeup sponge. No matter the density of the glitter, glitter polishes almost always dry with a textured finish. Adding a glossy topcoat will bring out the shine while also sealing the glitter to create a smooth surface.
For holographic glitter nails that remind you of faraway galaxies, try Infinity nail polish! Holographic glitter and flakies float in this deep purple jelly, which creates layers for depth and shine. A perfect alternative to black nails, Infinity nail polish is a softer way to embrace the dark side.
Flakie Holographic Finish
Along the same lines as glitter, holographic flakies are an additive that float in the polish for extra sparkle and shine. They can also be applied as full coverage or scattered, depending on the formula. That said, while glitter has hard edges, flakies have a more uneven and rugged shape. Not as textured as glitter, flakies produce a softer type of holographic reflection. The irregular shape of flakies create an organic, layered look, especially when the flakies are different sizes!
With a crystal-jelly base, the serene turquoise of Maldives nail polish will transport you directly to the beach. Are you gazing at the ocean or your nails? It’s hard to tell the difference, thanks to the holographic flakie shine! You can discover our best-selling flakie holographic shades conveniently bundled together for your ease.
At Picture Polish, we’re most known for our flakie holographic. We love nothing more than adding speckles of shattered rainbows into our polishes! Scattered flakie holographic nail polish truly are our specialty! With that in mind, we have an exciting announcement!
Our beloved topper, Holo on Top, has received a little makeover. We’ve adjusted the formula and Holo on Top has fewer flakies than before. In this case, less is definitely more! Additionally, Holo on Top is now a top coat, so you can turn any Picture Polish shade into a scatter holographic. Add a hint of rainbow flash and glossy finish with the most versatile top coat in your collection!
Linear Holographic Finish
Linear holographics are the most dramatic of the bunch, thanks to their show stopping rainbow reflection. Instead of individual pops of glitter or flakies, linear holographics have pigments blended into the polish formula. These magical pigments work together to flare across the nail in one cohesive rainbow. The only downside to linear holographics is their notorious tendency to show bumps and uneven dips. To keep those flares smooth, start with the base coat of your choice. It’ll help your polish last longer, too!
With a bold shade of red, Double Decker nail polish will transport you directly to London. Are you gazing at the famous London buses or your nails? It’s hard to tell the difference, thanks to the linear holographic shine! If you’re more a purple fan, then rush over to check out Deep nail polish. Your nails have never looked better than with a couple coats of holographic goodness!
Prismatic Holographic Finish
Arguably the pinnacle of holographic wonder, prismatic holographics are almost too beautiful to believe. In a world of dupes, rest assured that these polishes do exist, and even better, we get to wear them! Best defined as somewhere between a linear and scattered holographic, these formulas produce undeniable depth. The base formula contains linear holographic in addition to having flakies or glitter. Sometimes, even both! The kitchen sink of holo nails, if you will. Anything goes and we can’t get enough.
Picture Polish has taken prismatic holographic to the next level by including multi-chrome pigments! With a metallic glint and colour-shifting properties, Eternity nail polish will have you falling in love forever. Moving from green to brown, radiant rainbows abound in direct sunlight. Or try Serendipity nail polish, which shifts between green, blue, and purple. Plus that linear holographic flare too, of course!
